SUNNYSIDE, Wash. -- A traffic stop for a defective windshield Tuesday afternoon ended with the arrests of three Sunnyside men for outstanding warrants, and one of them for unlawful possession of a firearm.
About 2 p.m., a Sunnyside officer pulled over a 2000 silver Chevrolet Malibu for a defective windshield, police said in a news release Thursday. The driver and two passengers were arrested for outstanding warrants.
The 28-year-old passenger in the rear seat had two 45-caliber unfired bullets and four more on the seat near him, police said.
Using a search warrant, officers found in the car a scale, two small Baggies of marijuana and a loaded 45-caliber Springfield Arms 1911, police said.
Police plan to seek charges of unlawful possession of a firearm against the passenger. (Pedro Baltazar Flores)
Police will seek charges of driving with a suspended license for the 25-year-old driver.
